Here’s everything you need to know about your next SSDI payment.

If you’re curious about whether your Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) payment will arrive this Wednesday, we’ve got all the information you need. Since 1997, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has been issuing SSDI payments on a staggered schedule, so not everyone receives their deposit on the same day. So, who’s up for this week’s payment?

The SSA distributes SSDI payments according to beneficiaries’ birth dates. Under this staggered system, recipients born between the 1st and 31st of the month receive their benefits on different Wednesdays.

If your birthday falls between the 11th and 20th of the month, mark your calendar because this Wednesday is your payday! On August 21, you’ll see your deposit arrive in your bank account via direct deposit.

For those born between the 1st and 10th, payments are issued on the second Wednesday, while those with birthdays from the 21st to 31st can expect their SSDI payment on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

What about special situations?

If you’ve been receiving SSDI benefits since before May 1997 or if you’re also enrolled in the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program, your payments follow a different schedule. In these cases, your SSDI payment is deposited on the 1st of the month, and the SSI payment is deposited on the 3rd.

If your SSDI payment doesn’t arrive on time, the SSA recommends waiting at least three business days before taking any action. After this period, contact your bank to ensure everything is in order. Still no payment? Visit your local Social Security office to report the issue and get help.

For those who still receive paper checks, wait three days past your usual mailing date before reaching out to the SSA for a review or replacement check.

Be sure to monitor your accounts this Wednesday—your SSDI payment could be just a click away!
